WoW Akin to Heroin Addiction
According to British child psychologist Tanya Byron, love for World of Warcraft has some unfavorable comparisons to addiction to heroin.
Am I Normal?, screened at 9pm on BBC 2 last night, investigated the subject of video games addiction – even going so far as comparing an ‘obsession’ with interactive entertainment with a reliance on cocaine or heroin.
Byron introduced the section on games addiction by narrating:
“Most of us think of games as the preserve of the teenager; young people escaping into a virtual world of fantasy. It’s an attractive but artificial world where they can give themselves a new identity and a status and power unobtainable in reality.”
She spoke to World Of Warcraft ‘addict’ Michelle Hart, 39. Hart said she had been playing the game for two years and spends much of
A Simple Re-Quest bugged
I know you’ll never believe this, but Blizzard has identified a bug in tracking one of the achievements. On the Achievements forum Tigole noted that zoning into a battleground will sometimes cause the counter to reset for “A Simple Re-Quest.” For this achievement you must complete five dailies in a row. The known issue will be fixed in the upcoming patch 3.0.3 but Tigole recommends that if you are keen on earning this achievement in the meantime you may want to avoid entering the battlegrounds.
It will be easy to complete 5 dailies after the patch, so it’s not a huge deal. I am concerned that Blizzard isn’t getting to the heart of the bug, though. There seems to be more to it than battlegrounds. Though I haven’t done any battlegrounds since the patch was released and have completed several dailies each
Are we going to kill all of the aspects
Alexstrasza – because she has loot. Seriously do you need a lore reason, or are you convinced only to fight evil?
I think they are saving the aspects because they are quickly running out of lore. If the cap is now 80 and KJ, illidan, and Arthas have been bested by players they have to keep something in reserve to be the bad guy at L90, and at 100.
The only thing that gets me is that with each new expansion not only are there more powerful bosses but inordinately more powerful creeps and quest mobs for the purpose of leveling up. Seriously, how did that Moth get level 72?? Did it defeat thousands of weaker, less aggressive moths?
Anyway the only aspect that i would imagine we’d go after to kill is Deathwing, and even that is tenuous. According to lore, no one actually knows what happens if you kill an
